There's good news for anyone who enjoyed the iconic third-person shooter Max Payne in Bullet Time. It was verified by Remedy Entertainment that the remakes are now in full production.
As of the second quarter of 2024, "Max Payne 1&2 remake entered the full production stage," according to a financial report released by Control, Alan Wake, and the authors of the original Max Payne games.
Other than that, we can read that Control 2 advanced to the production ready stage amid -3.2 million euros in operating profit following the acquisition of the full Control franchise rights a little earlier this year.
The report also mentions their yet-to-be-named multiplayer spinoff of Control, code-named "Condor," which has advanced to the point of full development.
Remedy's income climbed by 16.2% from $8.9 million to $10.3 million in the previous year, according to the report. This could give us hope that their financial condition is stable and enable them to continue developing the aforementioned games quickly.
This is particularly crucial now that their secretively cancelled cooperative multiplayer game code-named "Kestrel" was canceled, giving them more time to concentrate on their already-completed projects.
Based on available data, the Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes are expected to hit theaters in late 2026 or early 2027. The release dates for Control 2 and "Condor" have not yet been revealed.
