Under Defeat is a video game that was first launched in Japanese arcades in 2005 through G.rev's arcade release. The player controls a helicopter that is loaded with weapons and must maneuver over a semi-isometric playfield while facing off against an endless stream of opponent air and ground warfare vehicles. Under Defeat, a game that is well-known for its intense action and striking 3D graphics, is now available on contemporary console platforms. It features three distinct game modes that are tailored to the preferences of the players and overseen by G.rev.
For the most accurate portrayal of the game, Arcade Mode presents the game in a 4:3 ratio on a pseudo-vertical screen, exactly replicating the original arcade experience. The thrilling shooting action of the game is transformed into a widescreen 16:9 ratio in New Order Mode, which updates the game for modern displays. New Order Mode+ adds even more features to the game, including a "WARNING GAUGE," which incorporates a risk/reward mechanism to help the player dodge, shoot, and bomb their way through waves of enemy invaders.
Every mode offers the ability to pilot one of four distinct helicopters into combat, each with its own set of features and weaponry. Along with a choice of all three current soundtracks and a new Boosted soundtrack from video game music veteran Shinji Hosoe (Ridge Racer series, Tekken series, etc.) and his business, Super Sweep, this updated release also includes newly added practice elements for each mode.
