After receiving negative feedback about Sweet Baby Inc.'s most recent game, Capes, a Community Strategist from Daedalic Entertainment disassociated themselves from the company.
In a recent post, Penta addresses player frustrations by stating that, had they known then what they know now, they probably would have chosen differently when they first collaborated with Sweet Baby in 2022.
"Why did you continue to collaborate with them despite what they said?"
Together with SBI, the Devs worked in early 2022. Although there was no indication of this in 2022, we are aware that statements will be made in the future by people associated with SBI. As a result, it is possible that the choice made in 2024 would have been different.
He continues by saying that Daedalic is dedicated to offering enjoyment to "everyone." They acknowledge that players have valid complaints, but they go on to say that the conversation around Capes may be detrimental to the game's success. It remains to be seen if their criticism of Sweet Baby Inc. would appease players.

As a business that publishes video games for a global market, we literally mean diversity and equality. We oppose hatred of any kind directed towards any group. This includes white male gamers in addition to POC, LGBTQ+, and other groups. We should all be aware that, regardless of our identities, we are all gamers. It is unfortunate that we have to explicitly state this. We are definitely not "the enemy," but if a diverse roster of heroes makes you decide against playing Capes, that's your choice. At the very least, we don't consider "you" as one for doing so.
However, some of you—not all of you—are currently deliberately attempting to damage a small independent development studio in an attempt to teach them a lesson they never really needed to learn.
